CATCH THE WAVE- ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY 🍾

So my very first blog post was technically April 11, 2017, but that was a basic introduction to let you guys know I was beginning this journey!

My first official post is the one where I attempted a DIY project for Easter. If you have not seen it yet, go ahead and click here. (my posts have come A LONG way since then so be nice and don’t judge lol). I actually ended up posting two at once on that day because I was supposed to post those in time for Easter but just didn’t make it (newbie blogger problems 🤪).

It is absolutely crazy to think I have been chuggin’ along this journey for an entire year! I have learned so much about blogging, technology, myself and this world. I wanted to write this post to first, talk about some of the things I have learned as a new blogger and second, to thank everyone for supporting me! Blogging can be a difficult path to take but hopefully, I will find it to be rewarding.

Blogging at the start was very confusing and a little stressful to get figured out. Once you get started it gets easier and easier every week that passes. Figuring out my schedule and the format I liked to post with was a good start. I luckily had a very nice camera to get quality images. As months passed I would find new ways to grow my blog and my audience. I religiously post a new blog post every Monday. I also attempt to post more than once a week, if possible. Along with my weekly blog posts I send out weekly newsletters using MailChimp. I started MailChimp a few months ago and now my email newsletters are the bomb💣

My social media is growing continuously and I am constantly working on making it better.  I have tried building my Instagram to be professional and aesthetically pleasing.  I released my Instagram story templates. I attempt to post every single day, but sometimes I just don’t have the content (which is no excuse).

My Pinterest is also growing, I am part of several group boards and pin to all of my boards daily (which I won’t lie takes a lot of work and using Tailwind could probably make it easier). I post my blog post pins every time I post.

Beloved Twitter, I haven’t taken much care of lately, I just share my Instagram posts and blog posts directly there. I need to work on tweeting regularly to capture that audience. I quit my personal Twitter like 3 years ago and just never wanted to go back. Again, that is no excuse!

I have grown my image and opened up to working with several different brands. I have collaborations that will help me build my brand and get even more exposure. Collaborations are everything. No matter what business you’re in, networking and knowing people is everything.

My next big exciting news is I will be launching my own merch. You heard me right! A while back on Instagram I did a poll to see what designs you guys liked best. I have taken those votes into consideration and now I have added another design I think you would all love. I will have more details about that very soon!

I have one year left of college and I am going to make the most of it. If any of my readers are college students let me know things you would like to see! Study tips, easy recipes, general advice about anxiety or stress! I am no professional but this blog is mine and if any bit of my advice or view of the world could help someone else that would be amazing. I started this blog to catch the wave myself and hopefully along the way people would enjoy what I am doing. This semester is coming to a close and I am so excited to get summer started with so many more blog posts!

This little blog was started to inspire myself and everyone around me that you can achieve anything you set your mind to. I might be making this a full-time job…yet, but I know that if I set my mind to it I can achieve it. I figured this all out on my own and with the help of a few amazing friends and family members.

I want to say thank you to everyone who has made this blog possible. My boyfriend Zack, who got me my amazing camera, takes me on all these crazy journeys and supports my dreams and goals for this blog. To my parents who financially support me and allow me to try to achieve these goals while I can.  They also help me find inspiration and complete many of my blog posts as a team.  My cousin Emily, who keeps my blog in her Twitter bio😂 and constantly helps me decide what picture to post on Instagram, My entire family who constantly supports me on all my platforms and asks me how my blog is going. (You know who you are😘) My friends who help me find inspiration and plan my future goals. The list could literally go on and on. You all know who you are and you know you have touched this blog, even in the slightest makes a huge difference. I can’t thank you guys enough for supporting me and helping me take this crazy step in my life. I love you all so much!!💖
