This was my first time ever making Tiramisu! I found the recipe from @zaynab_issa on Instagram. I found it to be really simple but the techniques really elevate it.
I made this for my bestie Maria to celebrate her b-day! She posted a Tiramisu recipe on Pinterest so I knew she had been thinking of it. Is there a better way to surprise someone, than with a dessert they have been craving along with a new baking dish from Le Creuset?!
This classic Italian delicacy is a combination of delicate ladyfingers, rich mascarpone, and a generous dusting of cocoa, creating a dessert experience that's nothing short of delish!
Grab your apron, roll up your sleeves, and let's unravel the magic behind this heavenly treat.
INGREDIENTS
- 3 Eggs, large and separated
- 500 g Mascarpone, room temperature
- ½ tsp. Diamond Kosher Salt
- ⅔ cup Granulated Sugar
- 7 oz Ladyfingers
- 1 cup Coffee, strong!!
- 1-2 tbs. Cocoa Powder
INSTRUCTIONS
Add the egg yolks, mascarpone, and salt to a medium bowl and mix to combine. Set aside.
In a separate bowl, beat the egg whites with an electric mixer.
Once the whites are frothy, gradually stream in sugar. Continue beating until stiff peaking forms and the sugar has completely dissolved.
Add the yolk mixture to the egg whites by carefully folding in until completely incorporated.
In a shallow dish, dip each ladyfinger in your coffee and place an even layer at the bottom of a 8.5x10.5 inch dish. Add half the egg and mascarpone mixture over the top in an even layer. Repeat one more time. Chill in the fridge for a few hours but ideally overnight.
Dust with cocoa powder and serve!
