So I was recently introduced to the wonderful dirty chai, and have been obsessed ever since. Since it's fall and we're all obsessed with pumpkin spice lattes I decided to combine the best of both worlds. A pumpkin dirty chai latte š āļø š
INGREDIENTS
1-2 shots Espresso, depending on preference
Ā½ cup Water, for steeping the tea
2 Chai Tea bags
Ā¾ cup Oat Milk, or milk of your preference
Ā½ tsp. Vanilla Bean PasteĀ
2 tbs. Maple Syrup
1-2 tbs. Pumpkin Puree, for a less strong pumpkin flavor do just 1 tbs.
Ā½ tsp. Pumpkin Pie Spice
ā tsp. CardamomĀ
Pinch of Salt
Fresh Heavy Whipping Cream, to topĀ
INSTRUCTIONS
Boil water and pour into a glass. Steep chai tea bags for 6-8 minutes. The longer you steep the stronger the flavor. (You could pre-make and keep in the fridge for a week of lattes.)
Prepare espresso while tea is steeping. Once steeped, take out the tea bags and add the espresso to the glass.Ā
In a separate glass, add your oat milk, vanilla, maple syrup, pumpkin puree, and spices. Froth until foamy. (If you you do not have a frother that also heats, be sure to heat the milk mixture either in the microwave or on the stove.)
Pour over the tea and espresso mixture. Top with fresh whipped cream and pumpkin pie spice. Enjoy!
You can also make this iced instead. Simply pour over ice in a tall glass.
