As you may know in honor of all my friends and family, I make a cake for their birthdays! My dear childhood friend Victoria was celebrating her birthday and she asked for a strawberry shortcake! Little did she know, I had just sold a strawberry shortcake and was so sad I couldn't eat it. I manifested a way to eat it, one way or another haha.
My tia has been visiting from Mexico and she told me a strawberry shortcake in Spanish is called "Rosita Fresita" and I think that is the cutest translation ever!!🌹🍓🍰 So now we're calling this lil cutie cake a rosita fresita.
I wanted to share how cute her cake came out in case anyone needed some inspo!
I used my Strawberry Shortcake recipe, if you want to recreate the recipe.
So following the steps in my strawberry shortcake blog post I layered everything the same, except I didn't add the strawberry puree to the center. This cake is also 2 six-inch pans.
I did a real basic layer of frosting on the outside and then piped little dollops around the edges.
Next, I added the layer of strawberry purre across the center and then added dollops all the way around the top.
Then, I arranged some sliced strawberries around the top. At this point it is very much, trust the process. I added some different pink rose buds and red hibiscus flowers.
For an amateur, I have really come such a long way when it comes to cake decorating. It is a process of trusting myself and trying new things.
I am excited to make a cake for myself for my own birthday next! So stay tuned!! 💌
